![]() ![]() I have not tested the Aegir extensively due to not having a proper premap. I have an Aegir and plan on getting a Freya + as soon as one is available. (I will just add that the Rogue has some great qualities.) The Rogue is not the topic of this thread so I will leave it out of these comments. My Mjolnir2 headphone amp and my large stash of headphones just gather dust. I never listen on my headphones anymore because the Aejirs are just so much more fun. I never go a whole evening without some listening. I am drawn to my listening cave every night. I am hearing detail in songs now that I've missed over a lifetime of listening to older songs. You will not be disappointed in the Freya+/Aejirs. I also have a Rogue Stereo-100 (all-tube) power amp attached to the Freya+ along with a separate set of the Paradigm Studio 100 V-3s. My speakers are Paradigm Studio 100 V-3's. I have been using a Freya+ with a pair of Aejir mono-blocks for about a year. If you don't care about that and you just want to sit back and enjoy the music without critiquing it then probably a good match. If you love the transient response and air like from a ribbon tweeter then the Linton's are probably not the speakers for you. It all depends on what you like in audio. I think they would be a good match with the Aegir and Freya+ based on what I have read. There is a whole thread with impressions. They are not about razor sharp transients and detail galore. But in retrospect I think they were really good at what they were. A 6ohm nominal speaker that dips to 4ohm is something that should be fine.Ĭoncurrently I auditioned the Linton Heritage Speakers at a dealer early this year. At loud levels the amp can go into protection. Schiit in Monoblock mode is concerned with 4ohm nominal speakers that dip down below to like 2 ohm. I own some Schiit products and have been following Aegir for some time. ![]()
