![]() Via the spool, Skip Checker, and the UniMotion library. His server is a Linux box, but I see no real reason for this not to work on Mac OS X, and I've been coveting the desk space my PSC 950 is taking up, so I have half a mind to plug it in to my mini and see if I can set up something similar (the PSC 950 does not have an Ethernet port). While following up on the Ndiyo stuff, I came across Quentin's post on how to use SANE to share network scanners.Who would have thought it that pimki could generate Mind Maps via Graphviz? Finally, something cool to play around with in Ruby.Sorry, Michael, but this one looks great in my Dock.Īll in all, I highly recommend at least taking a look at it (although Melo keeps telling me DEVONthink is the bee's knees.) Link Mode ![]() In fact, the only thing that I found mildly annoying about EagleFiler is the artwork - I have this thing against cartoony icons, so I went and hacked mine to look like this: webarchive files ( EagleFiler seems to be able to index the HTML messages I generate just fine).īut even that might not be a real issue - according to Tim Gaden's post, IMAP support might be in the cards, and if it ever manages to index PDF attachments inside mail messages that way, I'll probably snap it up. I would lose the ability to leverage IMAP as platform-independent (and easily shared) storage, but the indexing works much better than Mail.app's, and I could always use my script to avoid storing those nasty non-portable. I'm still fooling around with my IMAP-based approach (although the script hasn't been substantially updated), but since EagleFiler can handle (locally stored) mail and does tagging properly (including MailTags importing), I'm trying to figure out if it's something I can use on a long term basis. I've been playing around with Michael's EagleFiler for a couple of days or so, and I must say that I like it a whole lot better than Yojimbo, if only because my data feels a lot safer inside it (and not squirreled away in some opaque format). ![]() That and try to take it a mite easier, at least where some things are concerned.Īnyway, on to the Mac bits: Is it a Bird? Is it a Plane? Rather belatedly, I now realize I really ought to have checked my blood pressure when I got home (hint: it's no use doing it when you know you're feeling OK). Thanks to the miserable weather and the usual amount of calendar reshuffling brought on by the onset of another Monday, I am either coming down with something or having another bout of sinus trouble, so I took an early leave and have been coddling my head on the couch, poring distractedly through the PMI book until the gnomes pounding my head ended their shift. ![]()
